Hot/Cold Therapy, traditional Sauna, steam room, icebaths, magnesium bath

Hot/cold therapy can be beneficial for people of all activity levels. It is a low impact therapy that can reduce inflammation, reduce pain, improve circulation, and speed up the healing process. It can also help to reduce muscle tension and improve flexibility.

It's thought that switching back and forth from hot and cold water creates a pumping effect as the blood vessels constrict and expand. This boosts blood flow to deliver more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues, helping lower inflammation.

  • Start your cold plunge at a temperature you're comfortable with that's not too cold. If you're a beginner, limit your time in the ice bath to between 30 seconds and 5 minutes, then work your way up.

It is recommended to first sauna then ice bath and not the other way around, as sauna sessions increase the blood flow and heart rate and make our muscles relax, which cold plunges slows down the heart rate and makes our blood vessels contract.
